ListMotive is built for one purpose: helping automotive sales professionals prepare and manage vehicle listing workflows. It does not sell user data, does not use user data for personalized advertising or lending decisions, and does not ask for your Facebook password. Most listing-workflow information is stored or processed locally in the browser. The ListMotive licensing service receives only the information needed to validate and administer subscription access.
1. Scope and single purpose
ListMotive helps automotive sales professionals import vehicle inventory from dealership websites, review vehicle information and photos, prepare listing descriptions, prepare Facebook Marketplace vehicle drafts, and manage renewal or sold-status follow-up. Data is handled only as needed to provide, secure, support, or improve that user-facing purpose.
2. Information the extension handles

3. Information sent to ListMotive servers
For license validation, the extension sends the ListMotive license key and installed extension version to the ListMotive licensing service over HTTPS. The licensing service stores subscription records such as customer label, license status, expiration date, extension version, and validation timestamps. Recoverable license keys created by the current licensing system are encrypted at rest; older legacy records may contain only a one-way identifier and cannot reveal the original key.
The licensing service does not receive the vehicle description prompt, dealership vehicle photos, Facebook password, Facebook authentication cookies, general browsing history, or the contents of unrelated webpages for AI processing.
4. Dealership websites and vehicle content
ListMotive accesses dealership or inventory websites only to provide the listing workflow the user initiates. This can include loading a specific vehicle page, retrieving public vehicle images, and later checking the original inventory URL to help determine whether the vehicle still appears available. Because automotive professionals use many different dealership platforms and domains, the extension may require broad HTTPS website access for this user-facing feature.
ListMotive does not use dealership browsing activity for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.
5. Facebook Marketplace
When the user explicitly starts the Marketplace workflow, ListMotive can prepare vehicle fields, listing text, and selected vehicle photos in a Facebook Marketplace vehicle draft. This transmission is necessary to provide the user-requested draft-preparation feature. ListMotive uses the Facebook session already present in the user's browser.
ListMotive does not request, collect, or store the user's Facebook password. The final Facebook Marketplace publish action remains under the user's control.
6. AI-assisted description writing
When supported by Chrome, ListMotive can use Chrome's on-device language model to help generate or revise a vehicle description. If that feature is unavailable, ListMotive uses its packaged local writing logic. The ListMotive licensing server does not receive listing prompts or vehicle descriptions for third-party cloud AI processing.
7. Local storage
ListMotive uses Chrome extension storage and temporary session storage to preserve the seller profile, current vehicle draft, photo selections, posted-vehicle history, renewal state, license information, and temporary workflow state. This information generally remains on the user's device until it is cleared by the user, removed through ListMotive's data controls, or removed when the extension is uninstalled by Chrome.
8. Support website information
If a user submits a support or data-deletion request on the ListMotive website, the information entered in that form, such as name, email address, extension version, public vehicle URL, license-key suffix, and support message, is submitted to ListMotive through Netlify Forms. Users are instructed never to provide a full ListMotive API key or Facebook password.
9. Service providers and transfers
ListMotive may share or transmit data only when necessary for the user-facing service or related operations:
- Netlify hosts the ListMotive website, serverless licensing service, data storage, and website forms.
- Dealership/inventory websites selected by the user receive normal HTTPS requests needed to load vehicle pages or images and check availability.
- Facebook Marketplace receives the reviewed listing content and photos only when the user initiates the Marketplace draft workflow.
- Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of the service.
ListMotive does not sell user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or information resellers.
10. Limited Use commitment
The use of information received through Chrome extension permissions will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
ListMotive uses user data only to provide or improve its disclosed single purpose and related security/support operations. User data is not used or transferred for personalized advertising, unrelated purposes, or creditworthiness/lending decisions. Human access to user data is limited to situations allowed by policy, such as responding to a user's specific support request, security investigations, legal obligations, or appropriately aggregated internal operations.
11. Data retention
- Extension-local data: retained on the user's device until cleared or removed by Chrome.
- License/subscription records: retained while needed to operate subscriptions, maintain account history, prevent abuse, resolve support issues, and satisfy legitimate business or legal needs. Revoked and replaced licenses may remain archived for administrative history.
- Support requests: retained as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain service quality, and document support history.
12. Security
Personal or sensitive information transmitted by ListMotive is sent over HTTPS. License access is validated server-side. Recoverable license keys are encrypted at rest in the current licensing system, and authentication information is not intentionally exposed publicly. ListMotive also limits extension storage access to trusted extension contexts where supported by Chrome.
13. User choices and deletion
Users can edit or clear local ListMotive settings and drafts through the extension. Uninstalling the extension may remove Chrome extension-local storage. To request deletion of server-side subscription or support records, use the ListMotive data deletion page. Some records may be retained when necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate subscription/accounting history.
14. Children
ListMotive is a professional automotive-sales productivity tool and is not directed to children.
15. Changes to this policy
If ListMotive materially changes how it handles user data, this policy and any required in-product or Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those new practices are introduced.
